Egma supports first-class integration with Retell agents. You can run simulations against your Retell agent and monitor its live production calls. You’ll need to connect your Retell agent to Egma using a Retell API key. Egma uses this access to run simulations, inject mock tool responses and import call data from Retell.

How Egma works with Retell agents

For Simulation

There are three ways to connect your Retell agent to Egma:
  1. Text mode - Runs a chat simulation without invoking STT or TTS. It is faster and cheaper, and can invoke mock tools.
  2. Web call - Runs a full voice-to-voice simulation over the internet without calling a phone number. It invokes the full voice pipeline and supports mock tools.
  3. Phone number - Calls the public phone number routed to your agent. It tests the real phone path and latency, but does not support mock tools.
Use text mode to test core conversation behavior quickly. Use a web call to test the full voice pipeline with controlled tool responses. Use a phone number when you need to test the deployed phone path.

For Monitoring

Once you have enabled Retell monitoring, Egma automatically imports completed production calls from Retell. You can run graders on these calls and detect issues in your production agent.
